Recruiting Right-Fit Employees
A financial services company finds that a particular position is frequently vacant. Furthermore, there is a new manager’s position to be filled. New hires that appear to be a good fit don’t seem to last in the position. Susan, the Managing Director, is perplexed because the rest of the company has a much lower turnover rate. She is highly motivated to end the revolving door that characterizes this individual position but has begun to question her hiring and onboarding process.
Many hiring models focus largely on knowledge and skills. Our consultative approach has a greater degree of success because we also weigh the attitudes and habits of an individual considered for any role. Attitudes and habits cannot be taught; they are ingrained in an individual. Our process uses assessments to identify strengths and concerns in candidates’ abilities to learn as well as discover any personality issues. We use behavior and skills-based questioning techniques throughout the interview process.
We only bring the final candidates to the owner for the third interview. During the time we vetted candidates, Susan was able to do what she should be doing, servicing her clients. Not only do we find the right-fit candidates but we coach the owner through the remaining interviews, negotiations, and successful onboarding of the new employee.
